The Pro Juice Series Call To Arms

Hey Juicers,

We’re going into Pre-Production on the first series of Pro Juice and we need your help. We might be based in Melbourne but we’re looking to the world for both content and broadcasters. Check out below how you can be involved.

Animators/Designers/Editors

We’re looking for 12 animated stings to use throughout the series. What are stings? Well they can be anything you like. But basically they’re short (2-7 second) animations that we can use between segments to add some dynamism to the show and to show off the creative work of all you 'guerrilla' producers out there.

We don’t mind if its 2D, 3D, stop motion or cut-out animation. So long as its original, fresh and very cool.

Things to keep in mind…

  1. The Pro Juice logo font is Dokyo that can be downloaded here.
  2. The Pro Juice colour of choice is blue (R-60 G-192 B-238) like this one here.
  3. There’s some great sound effects you can download and use here. Or you can use your own, just make sure you (and us) have the right to use them.
  4. Have fun with it. The slate is clean so let your imagination run wild.
  5. Our broadcast will be in HD PAL.

Need some inspiration? Check out our opening title sequence produced by Animator, Matt Arnold here. Matt’s a great designer and animator and you might want to check out his Showreel for some more inspiring graphics here.

Send us a link to your completed sting when you’ve completed them and we’ll choose the 12 stings we like the best for our show. You’ll be credited in the episode you appear in and we’ll feature all the stings we select on the Pro Juice web site with a link to yourself.

Music Videos

We’re on the lookout for 6 music videos to feature in the series. So if you’ve produced/directed/edited/animated a great music video lately, we want to see it. We want videos with great stories, striking visual effects, simple ideas or one-shot wonders. Check out this great music video by The Basics for a look at a music video featured on the Pro Juice website recently.

Things to keep in mind…

  1. We’re going to broadcast the 6 best music videos so we need to be able to license the video. So it might be easier if your music video was for an independent artist or one that you are still in contact with and can help arrange rights from the band, artist or record label.
  2. This is a series for ‘guerrilla’ producers so the most expensive, glossy production might not be the best in our eyes. Story and execution are always the key!!!
  3. It would be great if you could also send us a short description about why you think the music video is so cool and any interesting anecdotes that are relevant to the making of the music video.
  4. We’ll need a high-res version of the clip if we choose yours! Do you have one?

Send us a link to the music video so we can check it out and we’ll select the best 6 music videos to appear in the series. You’ll be fully credited (along with all the other crew), appear as a spotlighted artist on the Pro Juice website and have the music video featured on the website too. The 6 filmmakers/artists chosen will also receive a complimentary copy of the Australian DVD, ‘Broken’. A compilation of heavy metal and hard rock music videos form the Australian and Norweigan underground scene.

So get those music videos to us ASAP. Send us your link or any queries to pro.juice.tv @ gmail.com (remove the spaces)

Short Films / Experimental Works

We’re also on the lookout for 6 short films or experimental videos to feature in the series. So if you’ve produced/directed/edited/animated a great video lately, we want to see it. We want videos with great stories, striking visual effects, simple ideas or one-shot wonders…

Things to keep in mind…

  1. The Pro Juice series is running with 26minute episodes so we’re looking for ‘short videos’ up to 5 minutes in length.
  2. We’re going to broadcast the 6 best videos so we need to be able to license the video. So we’re going to need permission from the Producer, should we select your video, to broadcast the work in our series.
  3. Like the music videos, this is a series for ‘guerrilla’ producers so the most expensive, glossy production might not be the best in our eyes. And again story and execution are always the key!!!
  4. It would be great if you could also send us a short description about why you think the video is so cool and any interesting anecdotes that are relevant to the making of it.
  5. We’ll need a high-res version of the video if we choose yours! Do you have one?

Send us a link to the video so we can check it out and we’ll select the best 6 videos to appear in the series. You’ll be fully credited (along with all the other crew), appear as a spotlighted artist on the Pro Juice website and have the video featured on the website too.

We'd like all your work before March 2010 so we can be on air ASAP.

Thanks to everyone in advance for participating and we look forward to producing a series that we can all be proud of!

Peace out.

Nick and Arlo.
