Michael Ciccone creates, develops and produces documentary, drama and multiple forms of other programming, at the highest standard for Melbourne's Happy Days Films.
In the ever changing landscape of Australian film and television, Michael places great importance in innovation and originality, so long as the essential elements of story are not compromised.
A relative newcomer by industry standards, Michael has forged his experience by adopting the motto: “Get out there and do it!” A go-get them attitude that has seen him produce multiple short films, music videos, corporate videos (for some major Australian companies) and most recently a forty minute festival documentary that is gaining attention internationally despite still being in its post-production phase.
Co-Producer and Production Manager on the 2007 television documentary series The Beijing Hustle and fifty-part vignette package Beijing Prepares, Michael took on board the challenges of filming in a foreign country and found in them a sense of belonging in the industry and a rejuvenated eagerness to tell compelling and worldly stories.
Michael finds inspiration in wide and varying formats, from the work of Morgan Spurlock to that of Jean-Pierre Jeunet, and in them he is keen to continue his education of foreign cinema, adapting those elements in his own work.
In this interview with Pro Juice, Michael talks about the production of their new music video for Australian act, Graveyard Train and what is involved in shooting on the Red camera.
