Smile on Impact 'Stop!' Remix Competition

AND THE WINNER IS:

We'd like to thank all the amazing entries to our remix comp. We were absolutely blown away by the standard.
We had remixes come from the USA, UK, Australia, Hungry, Moldova, Brazil, NZ, Turkey, Germany and all over the world. Except, Antarctica, damn snobby Antarcticans, think they're too disco good, to enter our remix comp! We'll show them!

The variety and quality of the remixes were truly inspiring. Some of the remixes were really imaginative and cool, but the remix that best fit out judging criteria was from Hungry: The 'Tony Palmer Remix'.

Tony's mix was simply precision. He had no trouble finding his groove with the song, yet he managed to maintain the urgency of the vocal. Most importantly it's a killer club track and is going to sound awesome, on LARGE PA systems!

Honorable mentions go to:

G remix, by Oliver Kennard from Newcastle UK. Excellent arrangement and interpretation of the song

Adam Ant Remix by Adam Antonievic from Auckland, New Zealand. Upbeat with a current groove and some killer shuffle.

Barrow Remix by Brian Barrow of Seattle USA. Solid Groove and mix with the big main room sound.

I'm gonna try my best to get personalised feedback back to all the entries and would once again like to thank everyone for their interest and support with this project. Pro Juice will continue to offer creative ideas and opportunities to help lift the standard of new media and anyone who has ideas that they'd like us to pursue should not hesitate, in sending us an email.

Peace Out.

Arlo.

TIPS FOR WINNING THE REMIX COMP:

The competition is looking for club mixes of the Original track, so it’s a good Idea to:

a) Make something that resembles a genre currently being played in clubs. It doesn’t have to be mainstream, but we are talking ‘Dance Music’ here. So ‘sound art’ pieces might be at a bit of a disadvantage.

b) Give the DJs something to work with, 40-60second intros and outros, with a clear beat, make for easier club play and will be attract a better response.

c) Use the hook. It’s not 100% necessary, but it will help define the track, if the chorus makes an appearance. It also compliments the original version.
