Definition:

Bleach bypass, also known as skip bleach or silver retention, is an optical effect that entails either the partial or complete skipping of the bleaching function during the processing of a colour film. By doing this, the silver is retained in the emulsion along with the colour dyes.

Nick shows us two ways of making a bleach bypass. The first way can be done in AE or Final Cut Pro and involves using two layers. The second is a way he learnt from Creative Cow and can only be done in AE… well you can’t seem to do it in Final Cut anyway.
